Presley Thomas

Finance Trainer

  • Mr Thomas has a Degree in Accounting  from the University of Papua New Guinea
  • He has a Diploma in (Teaching) TVET -  University of Goroka
  • And a Diploma of Commerce  from the University of Papua New Guinea
  • Mr Thomas has 6 years of Training/Teaching in Accounting & Finance related subjects in College/Tertiary Institution under his belt and brings a wealth of experience in Finance
  • He has 2 years experience being the Auditor/Accountant for Nuigini Business Consultants
  • And is a current member for CPA-PNG (Certified Practising Accountant,PNG) and still undertaking the CPA Exams as well.
  • In his spare time he enjoys Watching Rugby League and playing Snooker

Rosemary Haralu

Business Trainer


  • Ms Haralu has a Master Degree in Education (Educational Research, Evaluation and Assessment) from Flinders University of South Australia and a Bachelor Degree in Education from University of Goroka
  • She has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Pacific Award and successfully completed an Australian Development Scholarship Award
  • She brings to TAFE Ela Beach 3 years of teaching experience at Bumayong Lutheran Secondary in Lae and 4 years of teaching Competency based courses at Coronation College of IEA, Lae
  • Rosemary also has 1 Year working as a Human Resources Manager  at Laga Industries Limited
  • During her spare time she enjoys listening to music and watching movies and Sight-seeing and travelling places

Madeline Maita
Business Trainer
  • Holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and graduated with a Diploma of Library and Information Studies from the University of Papua New Guinea. With over 30 years of work experience,
  • She has worked in various capacities as a Librarian and Administration Officer before becoming a full-time business administration trainer with the IEA College of TAFE.
  • Currently coordinating the Certificate II and Certificate III Business Administration programs and the Certificate III & Diploma of Library and Information Services with the IEA College of TAFE.
  • She is a Registered Trainer with the National Training Council

Information Technology

Mark Paivu

IT Trainer

  • Mr Paivu currently trains students in the Diploma of Information Technology (Systems Administration)
  • He has had over 10 years of IT Industry experience and brings a very essential set of IT training skills and technical expertise to IEA TAFE.
  • Amoung other short courses, Mr Paivu can also run Cisco and Red Hat short courses. 
  • Mr Paivu is passionate about  IT and education young citizens on the importance and value of Information Technology in the country.
  • Mark is also interested in learning about Aeronautics and Law and hopes to one day pursue these fields.

Alice Kevengu

IT Trainer

  • Ms Kevengu  has over 8 years of experience in the Information Technology Industry and 4 years as a Trainer in the IT Department.
  • Also a Registered Trainer with National Training Council, she currently teaches the Certificate II in IT at the Ela Beach TAFE Campus.
  • Young and energetic, Ms Kevengu has a passion for discovering and integrating new and emerging trends in technologies and is always seeking out ways to learn and utilize them in her training and work.
  • Among varies interests her main hobbies include cooking and listening to music. Ms Kevengu would also like to pursue further studies in the near future.

Tracy Wafewa


  • Ms Wafewa has been working in the Information Technology Industry for over 4 years and on the training scene for another 4 years at IEA TAFE - Ela Beach Campus.
  • She has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electronics & Computing from the University of Papua New Guinea.
  • Registered with the National Training Council of PNG, Ms Wafewa also has the required Certifcate IV in Training & Assessment  Australian Qualification.
  • Ms Wafewa is keen to learn more about "New and Emerging Technologies"
  • As a member of the IT Department, she is currently the trainer for the Certificate III in Information Technology course.
  • Ms Wafewa enjoys reading, going fishing and traveling.


Mounah Tutuana

Hospitality Trainer

  • Ms Tutuana brings more than 10 years of Industry experience and expertise to the College of TAFE. She is passionate about the Hospitality Industry and strives to model best practises at all times.

  • Mounah currently teaches Hospitality Operations and is interested in learning more about the feilds of Customer Care, reservations and front office management.

  • Ms Tutuana has worked both Internationally and in PNG and brings with her valuable insight into the Hospitality training here at IEA TAFE - Ela beach Campus.

Larry Teneke

HOD - Toursim & Hospitality

  • Larry has vast experience in the Hospitality and Tourism industry
  • Over 20 years industry experience in all aspects of Hospitality operations and management.
  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision) (APTC) and Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Melbourne
  • Certificate IV TAA ICOT
  • Certificate IV TAA Kangan Institute of TAFE, Melbourne
  • Registered Trainer NTC

Marlena Toumasi

Hospitality Trainer

  • Ms Tomausi has extensive experience in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry in PNG.
  • She is a qualified Chef & has been in the training capacity for about 5years. She currently trains the Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations), Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercal Cookery) and Certificate III in Hospitality Operations. 
  • She is interested in furthering her studies and would like to continue being a trainer.

Children Services

Maru John

Children Services Consultant Trainer

  • Maru John has trained in the Children’s Services program for 6years. She has worked closely with Early Learning settings and child care centers in Port Moresby

  • She graduated with a Bachelor of General Education Studies, majoring in early Childhood Education from the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, QLD in 2005

  • She is delivering the Certificate III in children’s Services program and is also delivering the Communication Skills unit and the OHS program delivering level 1&2 First Aid courses.

  • Ms John loves music, singing and the occasional spot hunting.

  • She would like to pursue a Masters in Education (Early Childhood Education) and venture into Child Psychology and Family in the future
