Certificate III in Children's Services

This course is for people who wish to work in the field of childcare in an early learning centre, kindergarten or preschool. The course focuses on child development and care, play and creative experiences, health and safety, family and culture. Work experience is an ongoing part of the course. This qualification covers the workers who use organisation policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their development outcomes. Depening on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

This course has 11 Core units plus 4 electives chosen which are relevant to work place outcomes and local industry needs especially for centre-based care, playgroup supervision, family day care or nanny work.
