Online training
What can I study online?
You can study full qualifications or individual units of competency from those qualifications. Qualifications available for online study include:
- Certificate 3 in Accounts Administration
- Certificate 4 in Business Administration
- Certificate 4 in Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Certificate 4 in Leadership and Management
- Diploma in Accounting
Diploma in Business
How much will it cost me?
On-line tuition fees are set by the unit of competency.
Units of competency from the Certificate 3 qualification are K400 each
Units of competency from the Certificate 4 and Diploma are K500 each
You can plan your online studies to suit your income and family/work priorities by paying for one or two units or you can pay up front for the entire qualification.
Are there any prerequisites?
In general you need to be computer literate and have completed Grade 12. School leavers cannot enroll directly in on-line study, but must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the workforce.
Certificate 4 and diploma qualifications have specific prerequisites with details in the course brochure.
Is my on-line qualification recognised?
An online qualification is the same as the qualification you receive by enrolling in face-to-face classes at an IEA College of TAFE campus. The qualification testamur is awarded under the IEA College of TAFE registration with the PNG National Training Council.
The eLearning resource provides students with the same platform and content as used by Australian Training Providers.
All qualifications from the IEA College of TAFE are equivalent to Australian vocational qualifications and may be recognised by Australian training providers through a process known as Recognition of Prior Learning.
James Cook University (Brisbane campus) and the IEA College of TAFE have reached an agreement for diploma graduates of the College to be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning with possible credit transfer and may be eligible for a discounted fee when enrolled in a degree program at James Cook University Brisbane.
What are the software and computer requirements?
You need to have Internet connection. You need to have a laptop or desktop PC with access to the internet. The eLearning platform is independent of enterprise software, but access to word processing and spreadsheet software is recommended.Content can also be accessed on a smartphone or tablet - either Android or Apple.
How do I enroll at for an online course?
Complete an enrollment application and send it to enquiries@tafe.iea.ac.pg with a scan of the fee deposit slip Download the enrollment application here
On receipt of the enrollment application and evidence of fee payment your enrollment will be completed and within 3 days you will receive your log in details and be connected to the trainer who will support your studies.
How do I log on to the eLearning site
When you have submitted the enrollment application and paid the tuition fee you will receive an email confirming your enrollment and linking you to a trainer.
You will receive a second email with details of your log in and you will be requested to create a new password.
Please ensure the email address you provide on your enrollment form is correct as all communication will use this address.
