"IEA College of TAFE Opens new Industry Training Room"

On Wednesday 6th February, the keys were handed over to IEA TAFE for its magnificent new Industry Training Room. The Contractor was Sedikam Real Estate and construction was completed in just 42 days,  within budget, and well inside the quotation of 76 days. At a ceremony including all TAFE staff and Directors from Head Office, Manager Phil Oakley outlined the purposes of the new room.   Although it will always serve as a back-up class-room, the large 60 seater room will serve as an 'Industry Training Room', accommodating industry clients for TAFE's Management and HR programs. The room is built with the environment in mind, with louvers on both sides alleviating the need for air-conditioning in the cooler months. “IEA College of TAFE receives CPA PNG Accreditation”

Certified Practising Accountants Papua New Guinea   “IEA College of TAFE receives CPA PNG Accreditation”   On 24th October 2012 IEA TAFE received confirmation from the Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) of PNG that the IEA TAFE Advanced Diploma of Accounting  has been accepted and approved by the CPAPNG Council.  IEA TAFE graduates will now be able to register with CPAPNG and have their qualifications accepted for Membership with the Society.   CPAPNG acknowledged IEA TAFE’s application as follows -  “This reflects the stamina, commitment and drive your organisation has towards integral human capital development in Papua New Guinea”.   IEA TAFE is happy to talk to any potential Accounting candidates about a career path leading...

  Every person starting in their first job, should never accept that as the only thing that they will do for the rest of their lives, because there is so much more each person can achieve. This was the message driven home to graduating IEA TAFE students by the Member for Kandep and Guest of Honour at the 8th IEA TAFE Ela Beach’s graduation ceremony on Friday the 20th of July 2012. Hon. Get qualified in one Semester! is the theme of IEA College of TAFE’s new initiative beginning 2012. An Open Day was held on January 25th, a week before the academic year began, to introduce the new and exciting initiatives which include a 25 percent reduction in all fees on courses, and full certificates in one semester. The Open Day was held at the Ela Beach Campus to ensure the public was fully informed of the changes and the courses being offered. Between 200 and 300 parents, potential students and interested members of the public attended the Open Day. Kalang Radio Station was on hand to do a live broadcast every 30 minutes. TAFE staff were very happy with the amount of interest shown. A lot of new students enrolled on that day with just over a hundred coming in from provinces...
